   THE FREE TRAINING INITIATIVE

returning in September, 2010!

Workshop

Like any artist, the young professional actor needs a place to improve his technique and practice his craft.  We believe training is paramount to an actor’s growth. But the extant model isn’t working. Acting schools charge the highest market price for classes, preventing most actors from being able to afford the training they desire.  Fiasco is committed providing a home for any dedicated actor; we value the growth of our students more than the growth of our bottom line.

And so we’re flipping equation:
Fiasco offers conservatory-level training at low or no cost.

The next installment of the Free Training Initiative (FTI) will begin 0n September 7th.  Thanks to the generosity of our donors we will offer a series of classes and workshops completely free of charge to students.  We continue to fundraise for FTI 2011 and in pursuit of Fiasco’s goal to eventually provide free training all year round.

Here are some testimonials from our students:

“I really can’t put into words what that workshop meant to me. I don’t remember the last time I’ve felt this good about acting, or have been so blown away by the talent and passion of my peers. You brought out something truly incredible in everyone, and it was a joy to be a part of that process.” – Emily A.

“I have loved the class. This has been what I have wanted and needed and need still. This class has been pure and positive even in its challenges. And it has been challenging! It has been invigorating and inspiring and fun! I have never before found a class/teacher/method that makes it so easy to really grow.” – Lauren S.

“For those of us that took your class, it’s given us a fresh perspective not just in acting, but beyond that. We all found your passion, your love for the art, and your incredible ability and willingness to share that with us invaluable and touching.” – Ryan T.

“I am thirlled to have been a part and to be a part of such a wonderful group of caring, generous, thoughtful, aware artists. And I cannot wait to do more. ” – John M.

“Fiasco’s generosity of life and spirit, in class, in rehearsal, and in production, is both profound and uncommon. It is with great joy and compassion that I think of the company and the community, and I look forward to future work with a deep sense of gratitude and enthusiasm.” – Jeff K.
